11TH Annual General Meeting, Chairman’s Report
I would like to welcome you all to this 11th Annual General Meeting and Study day.
When three physiotherapists met for an informal meeting in 1995 to discuss how they could support each other and colleagues undertaking medico legal work, they did not realise that this would lead to a new clinical interest group being formed.
Now, a decade later the MLACP continues to steadily expand its membership and its influence both for practising clinicians and for those embracing expert witness work within the Chartered Society.
MLACP Summer Newsletter ‘08
Welcome to the Summer edition. I have made the most of the London exodus to find time to put this newsletter together –
I do hope that there will be something of interest to you all. I am rather short of material for this edition and all contributions are welcome for the Autumn/Winter edition.
I attended an APIL course at the end of April this year “Expert Evidence and the Potential Pitfalls”
and I have included what I consider to be some helpful information from the course.
Unfortunately, I was unable to avoid a fairly major pitfall myself in one of my cases - “when your expert changes their mind”
- more of that later, when I have sufficiently composed myself !
I have also included details of forthcoming courses, an update of the MLACP website and a snippet of interest for expert witnesses.
